Hi everyone! It's already April and I'm still behind in uploading art here on DA. This is because, although my health is getting much better, I'm currently having a major family health emergency and I'd rather focus on that than work on my DA at this time. I know there are notes and feedback I need to respond to, but at this time my family is my main focus so all responses are going to be delayed for the time being. If you want to see me post more regularly, the places to look are my Tumblr and my website. (Links below) Like I said, I'm more focused on my family at this time so I'm letting all but my Tumblr and my website go dormant for a while. I'm not abandoning them, but it takes a lot of time and effort to update everything regularly, and right now I don't have the energy to keep it up. Instead, I'd like to focus my energy on two sites until everything calms down. Once everything calms down, everything, including my DA, will come roaring back to life! (At least that's what I hope will happen.)

Thank you for understanding and I hope to see (And respond) really soon!

FYI: I recently finished watching AKB0048 so enjoy the journal skin. :D

It's been a few months since I updated my journal so I thought I'd talk about the most recent "fun" thing I've done since January: I went to the Arizona Renaissance Festival!

Of course, I go every year, but after my car accident in January, I thought I wouldn't be able to go. I also didn't get the season pass like I did last year also because of the car accident. Because of this I ended up going for one day. I mostly ran around the festival, taking photos and video of what I saw to show my parents and friends I know couldn't go to the festival. Almost a month has passed since I was there, but I'm still not done editing the photos! My normal day job was very busy the past few weeks so I didn't have the time to sit at my computer to edit them. They're coming, but slowly.

As boring as this journal entry has been, I don't have a lot to talk about right now. I just wanted to tell anyone looking forward to my Renaissance Festival photos that they are coming, but slowly.

That's all for now!

Taiyou Con 2015

7 min read
Hi everyone! I was planning on making a post about this year's Taiyou Con and talk about how much fun I had, who I cosplayed as, give links to photos I took, and so on, but I ended up not going to the convention at all due to personal reasons. If you follow me on Tumblr, you probably already know what those personal problems are, but I don't feel like typing about them here on DA so you'll probably need to dig through all my posts for almost two weeks to find out what it is. Anyway, the point is I didn't go. I was sad and pouted for a few days, but I decided it wouldn't be good for me to pout about something I cannot control. Instead of going to Taiyou, I sewed. A lot. It didn't seem like a lot, but I was able to complete and fix costumes I needed to complete and fix for months (and sadly years). It was nice to focus on trying work on all my sewing projects and not worry about finishing everything in time for Taiyou.

I already took photos of some of the things I made, but others were not because I needed some more things to finish them (Zippers, bias tape, more thread ect.) so I couldn't photograph them. I'm not sure when or even if I'll get around to posting the photos but the were photographed/will be as soon as I finish them.

One of the main costumes I worked on that weekend was Clara Oswald's Robots of Sherwood dress from Doctor Who. I've been planning and getting ready to make it since June last year and began to work on it four-ish months ago. It is my super fancy costume for the 2015 Arizona Renaissance Festival. You can see work in progress photos of the dress on my Tumblr in this tag. (I also reblogged some stuff from the episode so you'll see those in the same tag as the dress photos) I don't have any new photos of my dress right now because I ran out of stuff to finish the underskirt with. Once I get the stuff, I'll continue to work on the underskirt and possibly take photos of the dress completed.

When it comes to conventions this year, I'm not sure if I'll be attending any. Due to the before mentioned personal problems I'd rather not spend my money on a convention right now. Instead, I'd like to save my money for any future, unforeseen problems that might pop up. I have my eye on two conventions, one will be held in a few months while the other will be held in over six months, but right now it's way too early and I'm too concerned about other things to make plans. I am looking forward to the Renaissance Festival. I really do need to do something "fun" and relaxing at least for a day. I really haven't had a break from my job in months so something as simple as a day of walking around the festival while eating a turkey leg dresses as Clara Oswald seems really nice right now. Taiyou Con was supposed to be my break, but that went with the breeze. :D

That's all I can think of to say for now. If I feel like talking about the "personal problems" I already mentioned here on DA, I'll do it in a few weeks. Everything would calm down and I'll be able to talk more freely about what happened than I am right now.

Hello everyone! I'm back from a weekend at the Phoenix Comicon enjoying everything geeky there. I'm worn out but I'm happy and I'm very glad I went.

Although there are many things about the convention I enjoyed and would love to talk about, my favorite part of the convention is for the first time I was able to attend all four days of the convention. Due to my health problems, I usually wear out one day at PCC, but this year I was ok. I'm very pleased with how my health has turned around and I'm optomistic about my health in the future.

Unlike what I originally planned, I didn't cosplay during the weekend. I wanted to, had costumes picked out, finished, and ready to go but I got a HUGE blister on my right foot a day before the convention. Since the shoes I was wearing were well broken into, it was a surprise. Also, the shoes were the same shoes I was planning on wearing with most of my costumes. So, I decided to not cosplay during the weekend. I do have photos of the costumes I was originally planning on wearing, but they are on my dress form. Still, I have photos they exist!

I did take many photos while there. I'm currently going through all the photos to deciding which photos are worthy of posting on what sites and which ones should never see the light of day. All the photos I find acceptable to be seen will be posted on my Flickr account. Some will also be found on my Tumblr and on a future blog post on my wordpress I-really-should-make-it-an-offical-website website. Very few will end up here on DA because I'm unsure if they can stand as a quality equal to my Renaissance Festival photos. Since I'm still going through the photos, there is a chance I could find quite a few that I'm happy with and decide to post.

Well, I think that about covers everything! Since the convention is over it means I have to get back to work and start drawing, painting, and sewing again. I'm planning on selling some things I sewed in the near future, but first I need to create them!

That's all for now!

I missed making a post about my 3 year anniversary here on DeviantART but that cannot be help. Especially with all the things happening in my life lately.

Well, March 12 marked my 3 year anniversary here on DeivantART. This was the first website I had to post my art, photos, and sewing publicly so it was special for me. Also, I created this profile at a time in my life when my life was riddled with problems and it seemed like my life was falling apart without a way to repair it. Spending an hour or so look at amazing drawings, pretty dress, amazing cosplays, and spectacular photographs gave me an hour to relax, be an artist, and enjoy art for a while.

I also remember back then I had such grand ideas for sewing cosplays that ended up not getting completed. Three years later some cosplay projects did get completed, but others are still incomplete. I still want to complete the costumes I began, such as my Astha court dress and my hand embroidered Princess Euphemia dress, but to be completely honest I feel a huge amount of guilt and shame about never completing the costumes when I said I would. Also, the construction of some of the costumes (Euphie) has me puzzled and I'm still trying to figure out how I wanted it to be made while other costumes (Astha) is now too short and small to fit my taller (and bustier) figure.

So much has changed in three years. I have no clue what my life is doing anymore, but I feel far more confident than ever before. I went to a convention alone for the first time last year and I survived in spite of getting sick! I'm far healthier than I was three years ago. I'm also taller. By how much I don't know, but I can reach the top shelf in the kitchen when before I could reach only the bottom self. I've made friends along the way and lost contact with others. Still, it makes me the person I am today and I'm better for it.

In closing, thank you to all my followers and those that favorited and commented on my art in these past three years! I would've given up on this site long ago if it wasn't for your support!
