***ARIZONA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL JOUST SPOILER ALERT***
At the end of Arizona Renaissance Festival's Joust to the Death, the two last standing knights fight each other "to the death". The two knights eventually fight with weapons on fire, one with a flaming raper/sward (Too far for me to see which weapon clearly) and the other with a flaming whip. Usually its the bad guy knight that introduces the fire weapons to the fight first. In order to make the fight fair, the good knight would find a fire weapon to use. One year, I watched the good knight's squire bring a fire whip out for him to use while another year the knight forcibly took it from the bad knight. The day this photo was taken, the latter happened.
*END OF SPOILER*
This photo is of the blue and white knight (AKA the good guy) fighting the red and green knight (AKA the bad guy). After the red and green knight crack his fire whip, a huge fire ball flew up that was so huge I could feel the heat from hit all the way across the jousting arena. Even though the blue and white knight wasn't my representative knight so I didn't cheer for him, I felt sorry for him because he got the most heat from the fire ball. This picture was taken just before the fire ball came up.
Taken at the Arizona Renaissance Festival Joust to the Death on March 27, 2011. Camera used: Canon PowerShot SX120 IS
That's Amidello (Joe) with the whip and Edgeron (Jack) with the sword. I'm in love with the fire capture! I have a similar picture in my gallery but the detail in the fire isn't nearly as precise! *praise*
Thank you sooo much for telling me the knight's names! I didn't remember the names of the knights after they were announced so I just called them the red and green knight and the blue and white knight to play it safe and not call them the wrong name. >_<;
LOL! I can imagine! I took a lot of pictures of Edgeron that turned out really well, and I'm starting to think it might suggest I'm now a fan of his. ^_^ It's funny too because I wasn't sitting on Edgeron's side on any of the jousts I attended. Now I feel like I neglected the other knights with picture taking! XD
