Description
Lately I've been sewing a lot of complex costumes and I needed to sew something simple. I found Simplicity's 3688 at the store one day and bought it and some fabric to make a skirt out of it. I've been looking for a 1940's style skirt with princess seams for months but couldn't find a reprint of a 1940's pattern with the skirt style I was looking for. Since 3688 was a reprint of a 1940's Simplicity pattern it was exactly what I was looking for. I'm so happy I didn't give up looking!
The skirt is made out of blue twill, has a side zipper, a bias tape hem, and the seams are French seams.
I don't really have much else to say about the construction of the skirt. It's simple and classy. I really like it and it was nice making something so simple for a change! Now I need to find somewhere to wear it to.
